Nylon Studios just completed the music for a new stop-animation spot for World Wildlife Fund's cause, Earth Hour. The cause has cities throughout 100 countries cutting power at major sites for one hour on March 26th in a stand against climate change and to promote sustainable living. Teaming up with Radical Media in LA for Leo Burnett Chicago, Nylon was tapped to create a composition which complements the animation portraying symbols of the movement.

Nylon Studios’ composer Michael Yezerski wrote the music for the amazing 15-minute animated short that tells the story of a boy who finds an unusual creature on a beach and tries to find a home for it. The film was developed from the book of the same name by award-winning Australian author/illustrator Shaun Tan. It was directed by Shaun Tan and Andrew Ruhemann and produced by Sophie Byrne.
Michael comments, “The music of the film needed to tell an emotional story, but also evoke the strange world of the ‘Lost Thing.’ In collaboration with Shaun and Andrew, I developed a non-traditional musical landscape for the score that would be both heartwarming and yet somehow a little unfamiliar, which reflects the themes of the film.”
